Casters for my keyboard stand

Intro

Hi there! I got a home studio. But I do not have that much space in my flat, so things need to be movable. I bought a keyboard stand for my Kontrol S61 but it did not have any casters - so I 3D printed some adapters to add some.

Mounted Part

Materials

The parts besides the stand are available on AliExpress. Maybe you got some screws & inserts laying around - who knows.

Keyboard Stand
Casters
M4x6 Screws with flat head
M3x8 Screws with regular head
M4 Brass Insert OD 6mm
M3 Brass Insert OD 4.5mm

The mounts were 3D printed using Extrudr PLA.

Design

The casters are designed to have a snug fit onto the feet of the keyboard stand. To further improve it, I added a grub screw. All threads are done with brass inserts, which can be easily inserted using a soldering iron. I designed the part using Fusion360. The files are avaiable at the end of this post.

Assembly

I 3D printed the parts using PLA and my “trustworthy” Ender printer. The brass inserts were pressed in with a hot soldering iron. The mounting holes for the casters are M4 inserts, the insert for the grub screw uses a M3 insert. Before adding the casters, you need to put the feet onto the keyboard stand and tighten the M3 grub screw. The casters are mounted using the M4 screws.
